Masks on , Pike County!

MASKS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL PASSENGERS

Per Governor DeWine’s newest order effective, July 23, at 6p.m. a statewide mask mandate went into effect for citizens living in all 88 Ohio counties.  Masks may be medical or homemade, and can include scarves or bandanas.  They must fully cover the nose and mouth.

All individuals in Ohio must wear facial coverings in public at all times when:
  • At an indoor location that is not a residence
  • Outdoors, but unable to maintain six-foot social distance from people who are not household members
  • Waiting for, riding, driving, or operating public transportation, such as a taxi, a car service, or a private car used for ride-sharing.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED COOPERATION AND UNDERSTANDING DURING THIS TIME!

PLEASE NOTE:

Thursday, 4-16-2020 - IMPORTANT NOTICE!!!!!
In alignment with guidance from the @CDCgov and @OHdeptofhealth, customers will be required to wear a secure mask covering their faces while using CATS for essential travel.

Effective, Friday, April 17, CATS is requiring riders to wear a mask, to help protect customers and CATS employees from the spread of Coronavirus. Masks can be either medical or homemade and can include scarves or bandannas. They must fully cover the nose and mouth.
CATS has provided its drivers with face masks and are requiring riders to wear them too. Other recommendations for passengers are to turn faces away from others and limit talking while boarding the bus and when a driver needs to secure a mobility device; sit 2 or 3 seats away from the driver and other passengers when possible. Stars have been placed on the bus denoting areas to sit and maintain social distancing of 6 feet; cover all coughs and sneezes; limit travel to essential trips only; and stay home if you are sick.
Don’t own a mask? @CDCgov has some ideas! https://bit.ly/2R9av5m

Monday, March 23, 2020 - Amid the “Stay at Home” order set forth by Governor DeWine and signed by Dr. Amy Acton on Sunday, March 22, Community Action Transit System (CATS) will continue to operate their services.  Essential travel means taking trips to hospitals, health care providers, pharmacies, grocery stores, jobs that are providing essential services and to obtain necessary supplies and services.  We have suspended all socialization trips until further notice. However, no routes will be affected at this time.

Monday, March 16, 2020 - Community Action Transit System provides vital transportation services within Pike County and surrounding areas.  With the concerns regarding the COVID-19 novel coronavirus, we understand that people may be feeling anxiety and have questions about the safety of public transit; we take this very seriously.

Our transit system has updated its vehicle cleaning procedures to include nightly disinfecting, focusing on high-touch areas in all of our buses as well as sanitation during downtime.  We want to ensure clean surfaces each morning to assist our riders in having a safe journey to their destination.  If any riders have concerns or observe a bus or vehicle that needs attention, we urge them to please alert a transit employee right away.

Providing a safe transit journey requires a partnership with our riders.  We have placed posters from the CDC aboard all vehicles and at the transit facility to remind riders how they can keep themselves and others healthy.
Our top priorities are to continue service to the public and to keep our employees healthy and safe.  Thank you for partnering with us to help prevent the spread of illness.

Our Mission
It is the mission of the Community Action Transit System (CATS) to provide safe, reliable, affordable and convenient transportation to all persons in Pike County regardless of race, color or national origin.

All Pike County Transit vehicles are wheelchair accessible and are designed to accommodate persons who use wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, canes, service animals or other mobility aids.

The lifts and tie downs accommodate most common wheelchair models.  Please contact the CATS office to inquire if your wheelchair may be transported safely. If needed a CATS supervisor will be glad to visit you and make sure your wheelchair is safe for transport.

All vehicles are provided with seat belts, fire extinguishers and other safety equipment.

All vehicles are equipped with two-way communications.
