Why is it important to cancel trips if I don’t need them?
Pike County Transit has been experiencing increased ridership each year, and if you schedule a trip that you don’t need, you are taking away the ability of someone else to use the system. You may cancel your trip any time, up to two hours before the trip is scheduled. For early morning trips, call the office at 6:30 a.m. and we will cancel the trip for you even if it is less than 2 hours to your pickup time.

What if I cannot afford the trip?
If you need financial assistance, we can help. We have a reduced fare program for seniors and riders with disabilities. We can also direct you to an agency that may be able to provide for fare. Call us at (740) 835-8474 and we will help.
Do I have to wear a seatbelt in the vehicle?
Seat belts must be worn at all times for those riders under the age of 16. All CATS buses are equipped with seat belts and wheel chair securement devices.
What if I use a wheelchair?
Please tell the dispatcher that you require an accessible vehicle.
Can I ride the wheelchair ramp if I have problems stepping onto the bus?
The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1992 mandates that for whatever reason, if a rider cannot use the steps into the vehicle, the wheelchair lift may be provided as a means to board the bus. Each lift has support handles that you can use. However, under no circumstances can a driver or passenger assistance helper ride the wheelchair lift with you.
Can I schedule rides for other people?
It is best if you let other people in your party call and schedule their own trip. An exception to this procedure would be when there are multiple riders from the same pickup location, going to the same destination. Then we would only need to know the names of the riders, and how the trip who the trip would be paid for.
Can I go to out-of-county appointments on CATS?
CATS goes to Portsmouth, Chillicothe, and Columbus several times each month. This is intended primarily for medical, legal, or business trips. Please call (740) 835-8474 for details.
